Your brain is safe here...
At NeuroHaven Counseling & Support Collective, we are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and neuroaffirming environment for individuals, couples, and families. Our practice focuses on understanding, empowering, and advocating for neurodivergent experiences, including those related to autism, ADHD, and other neurodiverse conditions (in this practice, we consider the following to be additional examples of neurodivergence: traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder, OCD, and more).
We believe in a person-centered, trauma-informed approach that acknowledges how being neurodivergent can intersect with, and at times, predispose individuals to trauma.
Our mission is to join you in your journey towards growth, wholeness, and empowerment, honoring your unique strengths and challenges. Together, we strive to create a space where you can discover your fullest potential in an atmosphere of understanding and care.
We work with individuals navigating a variety of challenges, from managing anxiety and trauma to exploring identity and self-acceptance. Our approach is person-centered and neuro-affirming, focusing on understanding your specific experiences and supporting you in setting and reaching personal goals.
Family dynamics can be complex, particularly when neurodivergent experiences are present. We provide a space for families and couples to communicate more effectively, strengthen their relationships, and work through difficulties in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment.
Mixed neurotype couples (where one partner is neurodivergent and the other is neurotypical) often face unique communication and relational challenges.
At NeuroHaven Counseling, we specialize in helping these couples build deeper understanding, improve communication, and navigate their differences in a way that fosters closeness and mutual respect. We also work with families where neurodivergent and neurotypical members can explore how to bridge these differences to enhance connection and family cohesion.
We specialize in comprehensive assessments for autism, ADHD, and related conditions. Our assessments are conducted in a supportive, collaborative manner, and focus on providing accurate insights into neurodivergent strengths and challenges.
We are particularly mindful of how trauma can affect neurodivergent individuals, and how being neurodivergent can, in turn, predispose one to traumatic experiences. Our trauma-informed care is tailored to help clients process their experiences and build resilience in a way that
honors their neurodiversity.
We believe that therapy should extend beyond the counseling room. Our advocacy services provide support in educational and professional settings, helping neurodivergent individuals and their families navigate systems with confidence. Additionally, our life coaching services empower clients to set and achieve meaningful personal and professional goals

While we do participate with: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Priority Health, and Aetna, I also value your choice in working with insurance or using private pay.
Enhanced Confidentiality
Choosing private pay allows us to keep your therapeutic records fully confidential, as we are not required to share any diagnostic or treatment details with insurance companies. Insurance billing often requires disclosure of sensitive information, which can become part of your permanent medical record. With private pay, the details of your journey remain strictly between you and me, giving you full control over your personal information.
Freedom to Shape Your Treatment
Insurance companies often impose restrictions on the type, frequency, and duration of therapy sessions. By opting for private pay, we have the flexibility to tailor a treatment plan that best meets your unique needs and goals, free from external limitations. This allows us to work at a pace that’s right for you, using approaches that align with your preferences and therapeutic goals.
Superbill for Insurance Reimbursement
Although I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide you with a superbill—a detailed receipt with necessary service codes—that you may choose to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many clients find that this allows them to retain the benefits of private pay while still utilizing their insurance benefits.
Use of Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
To make therapy more accessible, I also accept payments through Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). These accounts can be an excellent option for managing therapy costs on a private pay basis, while still taking advantage of tax-free health-related funds.
In short, private pay offers you the highest degree of confidentiality, flexibility, and control over your therapy, with options to seek reimbursement if you wish. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

A typical counseling session at NeuroHaven Counseling and Support Collective lasts for 50 minutes, although some sessions may be longer or shorter depending on your needs and preferences.
This is entirely up to you and your counselor to determine, based on your current mental health and your goals. Often, clients will work with their counselor weekly or biweekly. You may find that over time you begin extending out the time between appointments- and that's a great thing!
